Android overtook Apple’s IOS app store to lead in number of downloaded apps. With 44% share vs. Apple 31 % ,android users are now downloading more mobile programs than Iphone and Ipad users combined. This is despite the android market only having 319,161 apps at the end of last month vs.apple app store’s 459,589.
The major reason for the sudden leaving of apple is that the worlwide shipment of android phones is over twice that of the iphone, so the share is less impressive given that the ios users are downloading 2 apps on average Android users are only downloading one.
