The basic computer system
What is data ?
Data are raw facts and figures such as characters, numbers, images etc
What is processing?
Processing is producing results to a set of instructions which are written in programming language called as a program.
What is information?
The meaningful results produced by processing the data

What is hardware?
Hardware is the physical components of the computer system. Such as Keyboard ,mouse etc.
The hardware devices used in a computer are also broken down to 4 different parts known as the Input device, Output devices, Storage devices, Communication devices.
Input devices?
Input devices are the devices used to input data to the computer. Eg : mouse and keyboard mainly.
Output devices?
Devices used to get the information as a result of the processing.
Communication devices?
Used to transmit data between computers in a network. Eg: Modem, Cables etc.
Storage devices?
Used to backup the programs or information in the system . Eg : Flash drives , DVDs etc.

How is software classified?
What is a package?
It is software which comes containing a user manual.
It is software which comes containing a user manual.
What is an OS (operating system)?
A program which provides a user interface to help the user ad controls the hardware and the operations and also provides the user of the capability to add and remove application software.
